-
Selectmen meeting at the residence of Marian Varney, Town Clerk
- Board of Selectmen Members present:
- Mark Dindorf
- Marvin Powell
- Bob White
- Also present:
-
Marian Varney, Town Clerk
- Josephine Belville, NH Dept of Revenue Administration
- Meeting convened at 4:15 pm, Monday, January 23, 2006
- The Board discussed at great length with Jospheine Belville, the assessment procedures
that the town has just gone through, and also discussed at length the future assessment
procedures the town will be taking. It looks like the town will be using the "25% per
year" assessment process, where 1/4 of the town will be assessed each year, and on the
fifth year, the values will be reset for the whole town.
Just a note, the only values that will be changed in the interim years
are for those properties that measurements and/or structures have changed
(e.g. a new garage, or a second story added to a structure).
- Related to the reassessment, Josephine also gave the board advice on the contract that
was received from Purvis & Associates Assessment Company. These changes will be noted
and presented back to Purvis & Assoc. for review.
- Josephine then went over the Town Assessment Review for 2005 with the Board, whereas
the board completed and signed RSA-74, RSA 91-A, and RSA 75:8 which Josephine took
with her for the state.
- The board also signed the 2005 Equalization Municipal Assessment Data Certificate
- The board reviewed the budget items for the upcoming town meeting, some lines
were adjusted, town salaries were adjusted up, some items were adjusted down, the overall
total for the town budget is less than last year. However final proposed figures for
the Town Meeting vote have not been finalized.
- Sorted town mail and took care of appropiate pieces:
- Received Current Use for Pasquenney Camps, it was signed and forward to the County
- A collection of surveys were received, filled out to the best of our ability and
returned.
- Other mail (mostly junk mail) was reviewed and discarded where appropriate.
- Signed the Resident Tax Warrant for the State of NH
- Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm.
